Chapter 319: The Second Gateway
Chapter 319: The Second Gateway
Mirabella looked at the devastated landscape, her senses still analyzing the chaotic energy lingering in the air. The realization that a Domain-rank entity had been lurking directly beneath them fundamentally changed her understanding of the pre-integration zones.
"Earth is now unpredictable. Such a powerful monster was hiding deep underground, and I don’t know how many they are... So it’s good if she stays in Galaxy space, at least there, she will be safe, and the time is slower than the outside world." She said.
’She will only stay there for six minutes Highest, and outside, it will be six months... It’s still good.’ She thought. The extreme time-dilation of the Galaxy Space acted as a supreme sanctuary, allowing low-level initiates to grasp the world’s foundation without the immediate threat of high-tier monster waves.
Grace thought for a moment, doing the temporal math in her head, and turned to her Sister, who was also listening closely to Mirabella’s advice:
"I will go with Sister’s choice." Britney said, smiling warmly, trusting her Sister’s judgment.
Mirabella stared at her, her piercing gaze scanning the faint green residue left by the abyssal stasis. ’I don’t know if there is a side effect on these people who have been inside the jade Cocoons. I just hope nothing goes wrong.’ She thought, then snapped her fingers.
Britney’s diary appeared before them in a flash of spatial magic, floating gently back to its original owner.
"This?" Britney stared at the notebook in surprise, recognizing the worn cover that chronicled her darkest, most terrifying days trapped in the dark. She turned to her Sister, then at Mirabella, and shook her head with absolute resolve:
"I don’t want it. I want to move on, it will only bring back bad memories." She said.
Mirabella was stunned. To detach from one’s trauma so decisively required a mental fortitude that most veterans lacked. ’This girl is just 13, and she’s already this strong... Impressive.’ She thought, recognizing the makings of a future sovereign.
"Are you sure?" Grace asked, her voice laced with concern. She knew her Sister loves the book, but the new entries... They were a ledger of nightmares.
"In other words, you’re right. It’s good to get rid of it." She added, fully supporting her sister’s growth, and turned to Mirabella.
"Okay." Mirabella nodded in approval and snapped her fingers. Instantly, the notebook caught in pure, golden flames, burning to white-hot ashes before the two sisters, permanently separating them from their painful past.
The two sisters watched the embers scatter into the wind. They took deep breath, letting go of the heavy burden, and exhaled:
"Thank you, Senior." Grace said, her gratitude cementing her absolute loyalty to Mirabella.
Mirabella nodded at them, her demeanor shifting back to that of a ruthless captain, and turned to Carl: "Watch them... You can lead them now."
The moment she said that, she vanished. There was no chant, no residual energy flare—just pure, instantaneous spatial movement, taking Cupcake and Adira with her, leaving a stunned group behind to navigate the ashes.
____
[Some Miles Away.]
Mirabella appeared on the air, her six celestial wings fully retracted as she flew towards the gateway, a massive, swirling dimensional rift which was standing ominously at the end of the city limits.
"The destruction took down 50 square miles of Queens... At least, it didn’t reach the whole city." She muttered, staring at the low level monsters desperately scurrying in the ruined city below, terrified of the residual aura she left behind.
"I don’t have time for small flies." She muttered, completely ignoring the scattered mobs and increasing her flight speed. Only high-yield targets mattered now.
Cupcake and Adira were flying on her sides, keeping perfect formation like silent, royal guards.
Mirabella moved her gaze to her systemic interface, checking the status of her ten invisible guardians. The brutal clash with Void Calamity had destroyed all her shadowy sentinels. Slowly, the system’s auto-recovery was working, and now five have been restored, remaining five.
__
BOOOOM!!
The Gateway before then trembled Violently, the spatial coordinates warping as it started spinning with blinding speed.
Mirabella, Cupcake and Adira stopped in the sky, maintaining their altitude, watching as the gateway tore open. A massive, heavily armored arm burst out, then followed by the creature’s towering, bipedal draconic body.
"Another Dragon guard." Mirabella stared at the intricate scale patterns and the three jagged horns on its head—a clear evolutionary marker of its advanced rank in the monster hierarchy. She exhaled:
"This one seems stronger." She added, noting the dense, dark energy radiating from it.
"No one is allowed here!!" The dragon guard bellowed, its voice thundering as it raised its massive, serrated sword into the air to execute the intruders. But it suddenly froze; it turned its head behind Mirabella, its reptilian eyes widening in profound shock, staring at the apocalyptic, 30-square-mile crater in the distance.
"Huh? I know I didn’t order that massive destruction, how did the city get to this stage? Even if Realm Bosses fight, they won’t be able to cause such destruction." It muttered to himself, struggling to comprehend a force capable of permanently altering the map’s geography. It turned its piercing gaze back to Mirabella, noticing the faint, lingering resonance of her bloodline:
"Lady from the Sun family, are you responsible for that? Are you that powerful? Well, not like me." It said, pointing a sharp, heavily armored claw at her in an arrogant display of territorial dominance.
"You know my background, and you still dare act presumptuous before me?" Mirabella asked coldly. The sheer disrespect demanded immediate execution. And without even giving any verbal command. Cupcake and Adira shot forward like synchronized missiles.
"How dare you attack me?!!" A God class sword, pulsing with abyssal runes, appeared in the dragon’s free hand, and it shot towards the two familiars.
"GRAAAAA!!"
Cupcake instantly grew 20 meters huge, her muscles expanding as she assumed her catastrophic form, and swung her massive, lightning-wreathed paw at the stunned Dragon.
"How did you get so big in an instant?!!" It roared, completely caught off guard by the instant size manipulation, and quickly raised its swords to block the incoming attack.
BAM!!
The impact shattered the sound barrier. It smashed heavily into the weapon, sending the massive dragon flying some meters backward through the air:
"A Realm Boss?" It muttered in pure surprise, struggling to stabilize its flight path while staring at the colossal, winged Tiger.
"Spirit manipulation!!"
BOOOM!!
The dragon turned its head towards the tiny fairy, Adira, watching in absolute disbelief as her magic warped the laws of physics. Hundreds of razor-sharp swords made of pure, highly condensed spirit energy appeared in the sky, aiming right at his vital points.
"Die!"
WHOOSH!!
The ethereal blades didn’t just fly; they teleported, all shooting towards the beast with pure, concentrated killing intent.
"Stop underestimating me!!"
The dragon roared furiously, its scales flaring as waves of dense, corrosive dark energy burst out from its core, spreading all over the place in a spherical dome, intercepting and violently destroying all the pure energy swords.
’This is crazy! These two are Lv500, and both has the strength of a Realm Boss!! Why would two realm Boss serve a Human?! Even if she’s a descendant of the Sun family.’ It thought, its arrogant mind finally processing the terrifying reality of the power disparity.
Mirabella stared at the struggling dragon for a moment, her blue eyes devoid of any pity, and snapped her fingers. Moment next, the majestic projection of the Golden Palace appeared before her.
And from its golden gates, a 50 meters tall two-headed Cobra flew out. Its scales shimmered with lethal toxins, and it was so huge it covered the whole place, plunging the gateway into its shadow. It positioned itself standing right behind Mirabella, who ascended gracefully into the air, and landed with sovereign authority on the first head of the colossal Dragon-Cobra.
"Now... Kneel and Bow at my feet and I will make your death less painful." Mirabella said coldly, her voice echoing with the weight of the god general, staring down at the utterly horrified dragon.
"Three Peak Lv500 Realm Bosses?!!!"
