Chapter 427: Manager Woods
Chapter 427: Manager Woods
Why is it that in every story, the manager is always a fat guy?
Thea Shaw pondered a bit.
It’s not that she judges people by appearance.
But the eyes of this fat guy in front of her flashed with a kind of light—extremely discomforting.
That light was particularly directed at Thea.
Thea immediately thought to herself, do you not know your place? Someone with my level of beauty, do you dare provoke?
Among the three of them, Thea was actually the most composed. Both she and Aurora Sutton were hiding their identities for the internship, but Aurora Sutton was still a bit of a pampered lady at heart. She felt particularly uneasy upon seeing this manager and didn’t respond immediately. When Rowan Donovan hesitated, Thea spoke first.
"We’re from the management department."
Her voice was calm and crisp, without any discernible emotion.
Most colleagues around who came for lunch looked over.
Some had a look of watching a show in their eyes, but most appeared subtly uncomfortable.
After all, everyone knew the reputation of the planning department manager. Suddenly showing up where junior staff ate was like a blatant signal!
No one wanted to see such a little fairy have any contact with a pig-headed man.
Yet, due to their positions, no one dared to step in.
"Oh, from the management department."
The badge hanging on Thea and her group’s front clearly stated their identities upon a closer look.
The planning department manager glanced over, but the way his gaze slid uncomfortably from people’s chests made even Aurora feel particularly uneasy.
Rowan Donovan didn’t dare to offend the planning department manager, but she couldn’t just stand by and watch two young girls who knew nothing be eyed by the manager. She braced herself to speak: "Hello, Manager."
Then introduced to Thea and the others: "This is Manager Woods from the planning department. Manager, these are two new assistant girls from our management department."
Manager Woods just glanced at Rowan and couldn’t even bother to focus his interest on her. Full of enthusiasm, he stared at Thea and asked, "Where are you from? What made you want to join our company, and which university did you graduate from?"
At this point, Rowan was a bit puzzled.
The information about the two assistants in front seemed to be identity badges directly issued by the management department.
As for which university they graduated from, even she didn’t know as their team leader, which was quite strange.
Aurora Sutton answered with her university first.
Thea was officially registered at the same university, just never attending classes.
However, as soon as the planning department manager heard, his and the people around’s faces somewhat shifted.
Aurora Sutton’s university was renowned, a prestigious aristocratic key university.
Most students attending there are either rich or noble, and if not, then top achievers.
For these two girls to attend this university and come here as intern assistants was too bizarre.
Even though Old Mr. Kensington didn’t allow them to reveal their identities, just mentioning this made everyone more or less speculative.
Especially since, even though Aurora Sutton didn’t wear any expensive jewelry today, the clothes they wore were luxury brands. Wearing costly items is normal these days, but now, it seemed more telling.
The planning department manager’s face didn’t look so good anymore, if the two girls in front of him had a decent family background, it was clear he couldn’t afford to mess with them.
Though his character was lacking, the manager was very precise in his actions. Awkwardly laughing twice, he said; "Not bad, work hard."
And then left.
Seeing how quickly he left, Rowan Donovan was a bit dumbfounded.
